A special welcome to our sixteen new Junior Infants - ten girls & six boys. With sixteen in Junior Infants it brings the class total to thirty-three - a number that is unacceptable for one teacher to cope with. Bear in mind that in a playschool setting that there would be four staff allocated to this number of children.
The INTO are currently highlighting the issue of large class sizes in a pre-budget campaign entitled, "Room to Bloom." In Offaly 24% of children are in classes of thirty or more pupils. I would urge you to contact our local T.D.s to voice your concern about this matter.
Under the Child Welfare Act, a note is expected if a child is absent from school. Please use section at the back of school diary for this purpose.

A note is also expected if a child has not completed homework or is not wearing the school uniform.
Please sign journal nightly if possible AFTER checking your child's homework.
It would be appreciated if children were collected at the classroom door in the event of them having to leave school early.
Please inform school if there is any change to your mobile phone number or if you need to add any additional contact numbers to our files
Please ensure that your child's name is on school jumper and coat. We still have a number of unclaimed jumpers and coats for collection.

  • Goal Jersey Day, Friday, 3rd October - children may wear any football jersey of their choice and contribute one or two euro to this worthy cause.
